Does the rest of the world see America as a joke now that Trump is president again?

The sentiments that elect the sort of leadership America has just elected, are not limited only to America. And previous governments, with their lofty ideals and their nice, eloquent speeches, may just have lost that “common touch” needed to win elections. And we’re now faced with a new world. A world where those chickens of elitism have come home to roost.
Believe it or not, but I have friends right here in Europe who celebrated when he won. They’re right-wing folks and believe, perhaps not without reason, that “as America goes, so goes Europe”. So if the right takes a hold of power on Washington, the same may soon be true in many nations of the European Union. As I write this, right-wing conservatives are on the brink of power in Germany. They took the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy and nearly took France earlier in the year…
If the US elections are a joke, I sure don’t see anyone laughing. No, what I see is the rise of anti-immigrant rhetoric. The rise of parties coming to power, the world over, with slogans about how one should focus first on one’s own country before worrying about the rest of the world… I predict a world that’s more inward-focused. One commenter recently mentioned how even airplanes will remind passengers to first put their own mask on, before helping their kids. A Trump victory encourages this line of thinking. You ask anyone in Europe about the housing crisis in various countries, about the increased cost of living… and many times times you’ll hear: “My son couldn’t get a house and he’s been waiting for years, but the refugee family down the street got an apartment within weeks!”
What are "the new net zero jobs of tomorrow" that SNP's Stephen Flynn says his party would create?
